Rez Dogs

According to Navajo beliefs, dogs are looked upon as spiritual people and with traditional roles in the community, but their overpopulation is leading to many complex problems. Over 3000 reports of attacks and other dog problems were filed last year alone. "Rez Dogs" reveals a rare look into a very private Navajo culture realistically through the eyes & experiences of animal rescue workers, adoption agencies, and families and children, with an exclusive interview with Navajo President Joe Shirley. Ultimately, the film examines the clash of traditional culture with modern realities, and explores possible solutions to these issues which should concern us all, as it has far reaching effects (one neglect leads to another neglect, leads to another, etc.)
