Apache (Warm Spring) Leader (1840-1905)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1880, Loco became the leader of the pacifist faction of the Warm Springs Apaches (a group that also contained a significant number of Mimbrenos) who had relocated from New Mexico to Arizona after Victorio’s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this time, she became the leader of the warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 19, 1882, a war party led by Geronimo, Naiche, Chato, Juh, and others who left San Carlos in 1881 returned to attack in the United States sometimes known as the <\/a>Loco Outbreak.The Apaches forced Loco and his men to go with them to Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loco engaged in stab and run tactics with the Chiricahua until General George Crook captured troops in Mexico in 1883.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an attack on Chato’s content, Loco decided to put his arm down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loco did not participate in Geronimo’s 1885 escape from the San Carlos Reservation in New Mexico. However, he accompanied Alchise (Alchisea, Alchisay), Chato, and others to Washington D.C., in 1886 to talk peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
